Fairy Meadow

This is a backcountry, hut based ski touring trip. The Fairy Meadows Hut is located in the remote, heavily glaciated Adamant Range of the Northern Selkirk Mountains. The hut is surrounded by towering, granite peaks and long glacier runs. There are also many opportunities for ski mountaineering ascents of nearby peaks. After the initial helicopter drop off, we choose from a large variety of day trips according to the weather and the conditions of the day. The lodge is equipped with a spacious common room, propane lights, two wood stoves and lots of room to hang gear to dry. There is also a very hot wood burning sauna where we can warm up and wash after a day of deep powder skiing. Most of the days end with long (up to 4000 feet vertical) ski down to the hut where a good drink and a hot meal are waiting for you...

Requirements:

Good skiing ability, good physical condition. Previous experience in deep backcountry snow conditions will make the downhill portions much more enjoyable.

This hut is owned and maintained by the Alpine Club of Canada. Spaces in the hut are assigned on a lottery system. For groups that have won the lottery my services as a guide may be contracted either with or without food and cook.
